Ava Senior Center

Our menu for this week includes:  Monday, March 4—Chicken and dumplings, peas and carrots, mixed fruit.  Tuesday, March 5—Chicken fried steak, potatoes and gravy, corn, roll, fruit crisp.  Wednesday, March 6—Bone-in chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, bread, strawberries and bananas.  Thursday, March 7—Cheeseburger and fixins, savory potatoes, coleslaw, ice cream.  Friday, March 8—Ham and beans, roasted potatoes, spinach, cornbread, pudding.

Winners in the pitch tournament on February 19 were:  Elna Shortt (231), Sue Pool (222),  and Mary Lea Myers (214).  Congratulations to these ladies.  We had five tables and played five games.  Everyone had a good time.

Our activities for this week include:  Monday—OATS bus to Springfield, jam session 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Tuesday—Pitch tournament.  Wednesday—OATS bus rural Ava to Ava.  Thursday—Driver’s exam in the basement 9:30-3:30.  Douglas County Health Department blood pressure screenings 9:30 to 10:30.  Friday—OATS bus rural Ava to Ava.

Monday night, March 4 begins our jam session at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m.  Everyone is invited to come and participate in playing music or singing or just listening.  The program is free, but donations will be accepted for the snacks and drinks.  For more information, call J. Birthdays go out this week to Troy Lakey and James Owen on March 5, Ada Maddox on March 6, Joan Small and Rex Hartin on March 8, and Roma Mackey on March 10.
