It’s plenty cool here in the holler this morning, but we have enjoyed the last three days. We went to the Mt. Tabor Cemetery to pick up the old flowers from Dick’s grave, Friday. Kelly, Kailey and Kyle Thompson and Kenny Hunt helped me. He has been gone two weeks, it still seems like a dream, but it is a comfort to know where he is. God gave him almost 80 years, he retired at the age of 58. We came to Missouri in 1992. We did travel for several years, we enjoyed the mountains of Colorado, camping there in our RV, every summer for 11 years. He loved this place so much and was very happy here, where he was born and lived until he was 18 years old. He always said he wanted to retire here, but never thought he would get to. God provided , so his dream could come true.
I have had people to come by, and lots of calls from all over, places we’ve been and this area also. My grandchildren have been staying with me. They are lots of company. The 14 year old, has moved in with me. God has blessed me so much. My neighbor Becky Cavalier, came up for a visit one day. She brought me home made bread and other goodies. Stetson Lavell came by one day and came one evening with his sister Montana and brother Gus, while my sister Sue and Bill from Oklahoma were here. We played games. Julian Cavalier, Tony Richards and Kelly, have all been helping out.
We had a good service Sunday with several visitors. It was good to have Lodene and Ervin able to come to church. There were several out because of sickness. We had the birthday and anniversary dinner after church. I heard Jeffery Tanner did a wonderful job speaking to the youth at 5pm, before regular service.
Sue Brown told me yesterday, that she and Tom were at the doctors a lot last week. Tom hasn’t been feeling well for awhile.
Psalms 91:1&2 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him I will trust.”
