Betty Jenkins and Lenore Burton visited recently with Tom and Jewell Johnson. Claude Robertson also made a recent visit. Kent Johnson brought his grandsons, Conner and Kyler Johnson, for a visit with the great-great grandparents.
Billy Fletcher had knee surgery Monday, January 7, his good friends, Edgar and Sharon Stewart took him to Springfield for the surgery. George Dale and Billy’s Aunt Jean Daugherty, Billy’s brothers and their wives, Donald and Paulette Fletcher and Carl and Joan Fletcher of Bois D’arc were all there for the surgery. His Aunt Jean stayed with him through the night following the surgery. James Hathcock, John Truhe, Carol Riggs, and Stanley Goodrich visited with him while he was there. George Dale visited with Billy this Monday at his home.
Norma Stillings had stayed away from the nursing home for a few weeks because of the coughing spells and other symptoms of bronchitis, but this last week she did attend the Resident Council on Tuesday and played the piano on Saturday.
After coughing and eating her way through Christmas and late December, Norma got back to her fitness workout Monday morning. It is remarkable how much better you feel after a good workout. Not only do you get aerobic and calorie burning benefits, but you get the benefit of listening to and joining in many interesting conversations. Some conversations are serious, but there are some very witty senior citizens in this area who can keep you smiling.
