Norman Rexall Drug Store – 1952

Norman DrugThis photo from 1952 was taken inside the Norman Rexall Drug Store on the northeast corner of the square where True Brew coffee shop is now located. The photo was taken by store lights with a Kodak Signet 35mm camera using Super-XX film at 1/25 sec. at f3.5. The picture was taken on May 4, 1952 by C.R. Macdonnell, M.D., of Marshfield, during a field trip of the Heart of the Ozarks Camera Club of Springfield. In the picture are Ernest Whetsten, clerk; Clyde Norman, owner-pharmacist (right); and N.V. “Bird” Kester at the counter facing the camera. Mr. Kester was the grandfather of Gary Kester and Marilyn Kester Alms, both of Ava. The photo was loaned to the Herald by Gary Kester.
