In his last official duty as 44th Judicial Circuit Judge, John Moody (left) came to the Douglas County Courthouse Wednesday morning to administer the oath of office to Judge Craig Carter. After administering the oath, the retiring Judge Moody commented that his responsibility had just greatly diminished and Judge Carter’s had taken a tremendous increase. Carter has served as associate circuit judge in Douglas County since he was first appointed to that position in April 2005. Carter was elected judge of the 44th Judicial Circuit in the November general election. The 44th Circuit includes Douglas, Ozark and Wright counties.
