This summer-like weather is unusual for November and it will be difficult to endure a change to cold temperatures that are coming soon, since December is here.

Dana Taylor came Saturday to help me with a few jobs and will be back this week.

Sunday night December 9th will be Lilly Ridge Church Christmas program at 6:00 p.m. Refreshments will be in the fellowship hall after the program.

Prayers are for Marsha Lyon as her surgery is this Monday in Cox Hospital in Springfield. We wish her health to be much improved.

Best wishes also to Warren Moody as his foot is healing. A person doesn’t appreciate being up and going strong until they get slowed down a lot. It seems there are too many folks with foot and leg problems.

I was pleased to receive an invitation to the upcoming wedding of Shasta Blisard and Kurtis Saunders. My best wishes are with them and wish that I could be there. Shasta’s family has roots here for many years and are like family to us. She and her Mom, Janice also are members of Friendly Neighbors’ Club.

Good news from Regina Kirk, daughter of E.W. and Ina Friend, is that she is improving from her serious illness, her Dad reported to us at church Sunday night.

Karen N. Davis lost a niece, Mary Strate, (her oldest brothers daughter, in Estes Park, Colorado).

Friendly Neighbors Extension Club meets this Thursday and will be filling Christmas bags to deliver that afternoon. They also donate to the Ozark County Food Bank with canned and fresh fruit goods for distribution as their charitable work.

Best wishes to Maxine Smith who is having back problems. She was seeing a doctor Monday.

Gene Carter had knee surgery in Mountain View, Arkansas at the Stone County Medical Center with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Charles Varala and is recovering successfully.

A good thought to remember is that “Faith is what makes you feel the warmth of the hearth while you are still chopping the wood.”
