Caney Church

November 28 – Caney Church came together Wednesday evening by singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley was our leader this week. He took prayer requests/praise reports. We have many concerns. We know God can handle each need.

Jeff read Luke 2:21-35 and 45. He talked of the marvelous revelation of Christ to Simeon, Mary and Joseph. How the Holy Ghost came on them and recognized Christ. How Jesus grew physically and spiritually being led by the grace of God and how He did it all for us. We had a very interesting discussion on the infant Christ and how He grew and then suffered the same as we do.

Sunday school opened with singing. Bro. Jack Essary welcomed everyone. He took prayer requests and praise reports. Bro. Hi Lambeth led in prayer. Jack read Psalms 33:8-12 for our devotion. We had a wonderful discussion in Sunday school. Testimonies were given by Jeff Shipley, Lila Roberts, Jim Lafferty and Vanessa Mills.

Praise and Worship began with congregational singing. Melissa Harmon and Melba Austin did special music. Pastor Bill Austin brought our morning message from Haggai 2:4-9. If we work for the Lord He will bless us and give us peace. When Christ came all the offerings of blood was done away with only the blood of Christ will make a difference in our lives. Is Christ in your heart?

Sunday evening several were absent for various reasons. Though our crowd was very small, all agreed it was a good time in the Lord. Bro. Jim Lafferty brought the good message.

Friday evening, November 30 our youth and our youth leaders went to eat and then to see Joseph at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson. It was a very good experience for our youth as well as learning more about Joseph.
