Breedon Church was busy this past weekend. We had a great singing last Friday night. Those are always so much fun. We had a full house. Danny was sick so he couldn’t make it. There‘s a lot of that going around. Then Sunday night we had our church dinner and singing. We started the night with the lights off while the men fixed a light switch. We had planned to take advantage of the situation and we had candles and lamps lit around the church, which the kids liked and it was pretty too. We even sang a little bit by candle light. You really have to know the words by heart to sing by candle light HA! Susie Sisco read the Christmas Story to the kids. We had some awesome food and a great time was had by all.
In Sunday School we have begun looking at Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth. Chapter 1 of I Corinthians talks about the divisions in the church and sets the church straight that they were not to be followers of Paul or other ministers, but that they were to be followers of Christ. It also explains the wisdom and power of God.
The Bible Trivia Question I asked last time was “What is the longest word in the Bible?” The answer is “Mahershalalhashbaz.” It means “Make haste to the spoil and fall upon the prey” and it is found in Isaiah 8:1. Here’s another one, “Whose army had 700 left handed men in it?” I’ll give the answer next time.
