Last Weeks News – Tuesday, Nov. 13th, T.O.P.S. #0720 met and was called to order by Sharon with eleven weighing in with a total loss of 8 lbs. Top loser was Sharon. Rosie won the Hee –Haw contest.

Margaret had the lesson from the November Tops news on “All the Holiday Cheer can become a chore.”  We need to know the triggers that get to us, a certain person, a time of day, or certain tasks. The holigays can be good or bad. We need to hope for the best in everything. Do not take things personally. Just remember our pledge : I am an intelligent person, I will control my emotions and not let them control me. Be honest with yourself. Have a happy holiday.

The meeting ended with TOPS Pledge being recited by members. T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit, international weight loss support group open to anyone seven years of age or older. The MO #0720 chapter meets every Tuesday from 3p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the basement of the courthouse, Come visit us and sit in on a meeting, if you would like to find out more about T.O.P.S. This Weeks News – Tuesday, November 20th was called to order by Sharon, nine weighed in with a total loss of 10.75 lbs. High loser was Rachel.

We received a letter from our new are captain from Crocker, MO. Beverly Wilkerson. She is going to visit all of her groups in the near future and might walk with us.

The lesson was from Women’s Day “Avoid Winter Weight Gain” from late October to January lots of treats. This article was a guide to tasting lean proteins and veggies are good to eat before you cook for the holidays. Count each spoon and taste. Visual reminders of what you ate, write it down. It all makes a difference. Keep good snakcs on hand like edanome, zucchini sticks, cucumber slices, celery sticks, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli florets. Eat regular meals and good snacks like apples slices and peanut butter. Remember 1.2 veggies, ¼ meat and ¼ carbs is the beat meal plan. Now what? Don’t be hard on yourself. Start over if you have to. Drink 8 glasses of water. Walk everyday. Get 5 grams of fibers and veggies. Make small cut from your diet. Make healthy meal plans. Plain yogurt with a touch of honey just get started today.
