Thanksgiving has come and gone . Hope everyone got home safe. I’ve noticed several houses have their Christmas lights up.

Dick Richards went to the Mansfield nursing home to see Helen Dobbins Wednesday afternoon. She is not feeling very good.

Norma Cross and Georgia Sanders was at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center Monday checking on Peggy Jenkins. She doesn’t seem to be bouncing back after her fall a couple of weeks ago. Georgia and I was up there Sunday afternoon to see Peggy, Goldie Miller and Irene Richards. We attended church service, The General Baptist Church did the service. We enjoyed Bro. Alcorn’s message and the singing.

Norma Cross entertained several relatives and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. Kelly and Deann Thompson furnished the turkey and ham. Norma and others brought lots of veggies, salads, pies, cakes and cookies. You name it, it was there. Those present were Randy and Peggy Jenkins and Sue, Oliver Lee and Liz, Dick and Pauline Richards, Georgia Sanders, Kelly, DeAnn, Kinsey, Kailey and Kyle Thompson, Kenny and Seth Hunt, Tim, Margie and Hadley Jenkins, Kimberly and Lance Stillings, Braxton and Clair, Katie and Kyle Jenkins, Ed Hall, Juanita Herrell and friend, Sue, Bruce and Marsha Braten from Southern Illinois. They are Kelly’s folks. They came over on Wednesday. They are in their R.V. at the Thompson house.

Tony and Lisa Richards brought Irene Richards out to their home for Thanksgiving Day for dinner. Arthur and Charlie Hampton were there also.

Helen Dobbins passed away this Monday evening. She had been very sick the past few days.

Ervin and Lodean Schultz had the family Thanksgiving diner in their home. Everyone carried in a dish to pass. Those attending were Tom and Sue Brown, Rod, Lisa and Kayli Brown of Seymour, Ron, Judy and Jerry Lethco of Mountain Grove, Greg, Steph and Shalyn Taylor, Pam and Cody Miller.

Miss Kayli Brown spent Thursday night with PaPa and Granny Brown and helped Granny feed chickens and calves. Miss Kayli lives in Seymour and she loves to come out in the country to help with chores.

November 24 Goodhope General Baptist, we welcome back our pastor David Welsh from his vacation. Message was titled “Beatitudes- Blessed.” Scriptures wer Matthew 5:1-12, Matthew 11:28-29, II Corinthians 1:3-4, Mark 10:29-30 and Romans 8:15-16. Attendance was 57. Several were out due to illness, etc.

Sunday night service opened with prayer requests and congregational singing. Bro. Bob Huskey sang a special with Mary Baumgardner on Harmonica. Pastor David finished his sermon on “Beatitudes, Blessed.”

Psalms 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
