A good morning to all our readers, friends and neighbors. We hope everyone had a safe and good weekend. The weather was kind of cool, but bearable if you dressed warm. In some places there was frost and ice.
We sent get-well wishes to all the sick, the ones in the hospitals and the nursing homes. May you be up and about real soon.
Our sympathy to all who have lost a loved one. May God bless you in your time of sorrow. Our thoughts are with you.
We send greetings to the ones who have a birthday at this time. May you have a great day with many more to come.
This news from the desk of Fae Pruett. Recent visitors of Fae has been Tammy Gunter, Linsey Shroter, Florene Flores and two girls, Vicky Reynolds and Debbie Turbin from Texas. Florene and girls and Fae visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Easley on Sunday evening in Fordland. They visited Evelyn Witchey and the daughter, Sandra Duke, on Monday evening. Sandra is from Portland, Oregon. On Tuesday Wanda Hutchinson took Fae to Springfield to the doctor. We had lunch at Ryan’s. Our hats are off to Ralph and Jane Call for the work that they have done in our village.
Your reporter has been on the go again. On Friday Emmalyn Stephens and I “Norma” went to Cabool for the Golden Age Games put on by several nursing homes. What a day that was. On Friday back to the farm with Naomi. On Saturday the girls and I went to Sparta for Persimmon Day. Back to town Sunday morning in time for church. On Monday evening Steven, Jacob, Kyle and Nathan stopped by for a short visit. It is always good to see the children and to know everyone is okay.
Listed last week under the 100 years ago October 31, 1912 was the names of J.N. Greene to Minnie Baker of Depew. Should be J for Jay N for Nathan. Greene to Minnie E. Becker. That is my grandfather and grandmother. My father’s parents. I didn’t know my grandfather as he passed away in 1936 while daddy was still in high school and buried in the West Dogwood Cemetery.
No other news turned in this week so will sign off and say have a good week and stay warm and healthy. Until next week, Jesus loves you.
