Mabel J. Bryan, 90

Mabel J. Bryan, 90, of Springfield, Mo., passed away in her home on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012.  She was born Aug. 12, 1922 in Ozark County, Mo. to Albert and Vada Nance.

Mabel grew up in Ozark County and attended school at Evening Shade. Mabel and James L. Bryan married in 1941 and their son James A. was born in 1942. Mabel and James owned and operated several businesses which includes a grocery stores in Long Run, McClurg and Norwood, Mo., cafes in Seymour and Springfield, motels in Springfield and rental properties in Springfield and surrounding area.

Mabel was always a very hard worker and was proud of her accomplishments, as was everyone that knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Jim and wife Susan, of Ozark, Mo; two grandchildren, Curt Bryan and wife Karen, with their children, Carter, Daniel and Henry of Seattle, Wash., Julie Bryan Wise and husband, Garnett, with their children Bailey and Emma of Fayetteville, Ark.; sisters, Jewell Tibbetts and Ona Amyx, of Springfield, and Norma Eslinger of Wasola, Mo., and brother Alvin Nance of Spokane, Wash.

Mabel has many attentive and loving nieces and nephews who also survive. She thoroughly enjoyed her family

A visitation was held Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 – 11 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel, Springfield, with interment following in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens
