Sunday, November 25th at Breedon Joe Lafferty read the 75th chapter of Psalms. Opening Sunday school Lee Hampton led in prayer and lesson was in chapter 14 in Romans. This lesson speaks of being careful that we not make ourselves stumbling blocks to those that are watching us. If a particular person sees you doing something they consider sinful, you have placed a stumbling block befor him. In the 14th verse it says, “I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him that esteemeth anything to be unclean to him it is unclean. The 15th verse says, “But if thy brother grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.” Be ever watchful for what we do because we may feel it is not sinful but another may interpret it as sin and this could destroy your testimony of Christ. I Corinthians verse 13 Paul says, “Where for, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat not flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.”
It was so good to have Ronnie and Sue Thomas in church together today. Sister Rhonda Thomas is bed ridden and one or both of them has to be with her. Remember to pray for this family and for all who is sick. Especially remember those who are lost without Jesus. If they would only receive Him they would see it is so much a greater way and more peaceful.
We are glad to have Mike and Judy Willis, their daughter, Rachel Stutesman and granddaughters, Mikayla and Emma Stutesman. We welcome all visitors.
Bro. “Cub” (Joe) brought the sermon today from Hebrews 11 beginning with the 23rd verse. This whole chapter speaks of faith. But Moses had the opportunity to enjoy the comfort of Pharoah’s riches because his daughter had found Moses in the bulrushes where his mother hid him to spare him of slaughter and she raised him as her own son. But by faith Moses left this much easier life to suffer with his own people and lead them out of Pharoah’s bondage to the promise land. God took care of Moses and his people even as they wandered about the wilderness for forty years. God kept His promise and let Moses see it before he died. Moses didn’t get to go on in because of sin, but those he led from captivity went on in. Stand fast. God bless you this week and may your testimony lead others to Christ.
