Our menu for this week includes Monday, December 3—Biscuit and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit. Tuesday, December 4—Taco salad, Mexican corn, chips, refried beans, cake. Wednesday, December 5—Bone-in chicken, potatoes and gravy, corn, pudding. Thursday, December 6—Brown bag sandwich with brownie. Friday, December 7—Meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, mixed fruit. Come down one day a week and have a meal with us in an alcohol and smoke free atmosphere. It is only $3.50 and the salad bar is free on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
As we get older it is important to lead a brain-healthy lifestyle to defer the onset of brain decline, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Here are some tips—take a class, learn a new language, work puzzles like crossword or Sudoku. Join an exercise class that has aerobics, strength training and stretching.
Limit red meat and dairy but eat lots of leafy greens, fish and nuts. Be social by getting involved in the community and stay active with friends.
Maintain normal blood pressure and watch your cholesterol. Take a yoga or tai chi class to help your stress levels.
