Senior Night For Volleyball Team Here Tonight

The Ava Lady Bears volleyball squad went to Thayer Tuesday night and fell in defeat in the final SCA match of the season.

Ava lost in two games, 13-25, 16-25.

The girls will play their final regular season game at home tonight (Thursday), and it will also be Senior Night, with senior team members being recognized.

District tournament action begins next Monday night at Bolivar. Ava will face Rogersville at 6:30 Monday night.

At Thayer Tuesday, Cori Dry was 6-for-6 serving with two aces, 3-of-6 passing, and 8-for-9 on digs.

Makenzie Watterson was 5-for-5 serving with one ace.

Courtney Mings was 3-for-3 hitting with two kills and Darian Bushong was 3-for-4 hitting with one kill. Destiny Sparnicht also had one kill on the night and was 8-for-10 on digs, 15-of-16 on assists and 5-for-6 on tips.

Ava JV lost in three games, 19-25, 25-19, 22-25.

Hunter Shelton was 13-for-13 serving 15-of-18 passing and 12-of-13 hitting with three kills.

Jessie Davis was 7-of-8 serving with two aces, and 11-for-12 hitting with four kills. Bailey Loge was 17-for-22 hitting with one kill, 7-for-9 serving and 14-of-15 passing.

Maddie Guill was 8-for-9 serving with three aces and Caley Wallace was 13-of-14 serving with two aces and 13-for-15 hitting with two kills.
