We have such a need to pray for it is the key to all we do. Without prayer, nothing is done for the Lord so each Tuesday night we come to pray and the Good Lord always blesses. Each Wednesday, we do Bible study from the book of Exodus.
We had many prayer concerns as we began our Sunday morning service. Again we start with prayer at 9:30 a.m. Our unsaved loved ones, our nation, the church world, military, Donna Grigg and others were mentioned.
A thank you note was read from the family of Jill Adamson. May the Lord comfort their hearts. Pastor Neal reminded us all good gifts come from our Heavenly Father. Testimonies were given.
Pastor Neal prayed and introduced our guest speaker, Brother Augustine, from Tanzania, Africa. He reminded us of how spoiled we are in America with all the possessions we have. In Africa, the pastors are struggling and are blessed to have a bicycle. He has preached for five hours and the people are so eager to hear. They come by the thousands. We may have 50 sometimes. He also reminded us we will give an account of our stewardship to our God.
At 6 p.m., we began with singing followed by a discussion about our morning service and how little we do for our great God.
Sonya Hodges and LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang.
Pastor Neal read from Luke 21:25, there shall be signs in the sun, moon and stars, and from John 14, “Let not your heart be troubled”.
Next Sunday is our monthly fellowship dinner and collection for backpack program at Plainview School.
The 28th of October will be our annual hayride over Glade Top Trail at 4 p.m. We will eat there and have our evening service then travel back to the church. Sometimes it is cold—we never know.
