We began with our devotional reading from Psalm 27 as Doyle Humbyrd filled in for Brad Siler, who was sick. Prayer requests were given for Rick Crum, Paul Duckworth, Anita Smith and Chloe Wilson. Chloe has not been with us for a while and we miss her. Chloe, we are praying for you.
After Sunday school, Harold Menzies prayed the offertory prayer as he and Van Menzies received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.
Danny Johnson led us in song and did a solo titled, “He Must Have Loved Me A Lot”.
Testimonies were shared and Pastor Neal began with prayer. He read Luke 21, Jesus telling his disciples about the end times. Wars and commotions, nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, earthquakes, famine, pestilence, fearful sights and great signs in heaven—all this surely gives us reason to watch and pray always and to neglect not our coming together. We so need each other.
We had a fellowship meal with good food and good fellowship for which we are thankful when 33% of our world is starving yet we have much.
At 6 pm we began as Pastor Neal prayed followed by singing and testimonies. LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang a special. She also shared how Options Pregnancy Clinic needs our prayers.
Pastor Neal continued in Luke 21, Jesus telling his disciples they will be persecuted and we know from reading the book of Acts this did happen. We know Christianity is the largest group in our world today and every five minutes a Christian dies for his faith.
Sunday, September 16, we will do a service at 2 pm at the Heart of the Hills Healthcare Center. Sunday, September 23, Eddie Hunsaker and his singers will be at our church at 6 pm.
Sunday, September 30, will be a Gideon speaker at 11 am.
Each Sunday at 10 am is Sunday school and every Tuesday at 7 pm is special prayer and every Wednesday at 7 pm is Bible study in the book of Exodus.
Come and worship with us. We need each other because of the times in which we are living.
