Resurfacing Scheduled to Begin on I-44 in Phelps County

PHELPS COUNTY – Motorists on Interstate 44 in Phelps County will soon experience a smoother ride, thanks to work to resurface a portion of the highway.
Work to resurface the eastbound lanes of I-44 between Sugar Tree Road and Route E in Rolla will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The project will take several weeks and will require closing one lane.
The work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.  Various types of traffic control will be in place to ensure safety.  MoDOT encourages motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow work zone signing and drive safely through the area.
For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook for project updates.
