Henry Jefferson Prine, 79

Henry Jefferson Prine, 79 years, 5 months, and 22 days old, passed to heaven on Aug. 27, 2012 at his home.

Henry was born March 5, 1933 in Arno, Mo., to Jesse Elmer and Ida Mae (Wheeler) Prine.

Henry was a retired truck driver and general manager with Southwest By-Products out of Arkansas for over 39 years. He continued to drive for Delp Trucking until he retired to take care of his wife, Virginia.

Henry lived for a few years in the Ava community moving from Rogers, Ark., area.

On Feb. 19, 1950, Henry and Virginia Emma White were united in marriage in Smallett, Mo., by Rev. Tom Johnson and to this union four children were born. He was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers, Ark. He had currently been attending the First Southern Baptist Church in Ava. He was a member of the Western Light Masonic Lodge #396 in Lewisburg, Mo., where he served as a past Worshipful Master.

Henry enjoyed traveling with his wife, Virginia, fishing, going out to eat and attending Jackson’s Friday Night Jam with his family and friends.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virginia on Feb. 1, 2012, and one brother, Orville A. Prine.

Henry is survived by four children, Carol Leppert and husband, Vern, Carthage, Mo., Martha Shumate and husband Larry, Squires, Mo., Danny Prine and wife, Cindy, Bentonville, Ark., and Jack Henry Prine, Lowell, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Jo Dye, Oklahoma, and Alice Mae Davis, Kansas, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Henry will be Thursday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m.  at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Masonic services conducted by the Ava Lodge #26. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Ava, Mo. Visitation was Wednesday, from 6: to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Maples and Rev. Tom Johnson.
