Gentry Church News

Opening prayer to start our morning service was by Doug Miller.

In our Sunday school lesson in Hebrews 10, we studied about being steadfast in our faith. We should trust God with determination and come boldly before God knowing He has already prepared the way.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to 7 year old, Sequaya Hoefer.

Saturday, September 8, 7:30 a.m. Gentry Church Singers will be singing at the Senior Center for the Miles For Meals breakfast.

Remember George Welker and family in your prayers as he is in the hospital receving chemo treatments.

I spent a few days camping with my brother, Warren and wife, Diane Henderson from Bela Vista, Arkansas. We attended the gospel singing at Silver Dollar City. We sent the Booth Brothers, Inspirations, Perrys and others.

Bro. Bob Huskey was here filling in for Pastor Hall today and we are always glad to have him and Ella Mae with us. His message was on “Staying Focus.” We must as Christians keep our focus on Jesus and the word. The trouble today is we get wrapped up in the things of the world and lose focus on the most important things in our life like Jesus Christ our Saviour.

In our evening service our special was by the “Strum Stick Gang”, Bob Huskey, Sharon Ginder, Glenda Miller and Harley Allen. Also, a special by Gentry Singers.

Bro. Huskey’s evening message from I Corinthians 2:14 and Romans was on three different men and women. The natural man – doesn’t understand things of God, lost, sometimes goes to church Christmas and Easter. The carnal man – unstable in all his ways, envying, wants desires of the flesh and there is the spiritual man- desires to walk in the ways of the Lord and let their light shine. We need to look at our lives and see which one are we.

Come and join us at Gentry Church, we would love to have you.
