Gentry Church

Joie Welker opened our morning service with prayer.

In our Sunday School classes we studied in I King about Solomon praying for wisdom and knowledge and in our own strength and own knowledge we fail sometimes. All of us need God’s insight, wisdom and direction in every aspect of our lives.

Happy Birthday wishes went out to Wendell Deo.

Our special song was by Faye Allen, Wendell Deo, Narvil Tetrick, Wanda, Joie and Rod Welker.

Many prayer requests were brought forth and Sheila Miller’s mother is back in the hospital also Joanna Huffman is going in for tests this week. They need your prayers.

Our Bible school starts this week from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the program will be the 22nd Sunday morning 10 a.m., no Sunday school. We certainly invite everyone to come and join us and see what the children made and learned. Afterward is the Fourth Sunday Singing here at Gentry starting at 2 p.m. and lunch will be served before the singing.

On July 21st is youth adult night at 7 p.m. and there will be no third Friday Night Singing because of your Bible School going on.

Pastor Hall’s morning message was from Acts 16. Paul was teaching them “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved and thy house,” Always put your trust in the Almighty God.

In our evening service we had mnay testimonies and our special songs were by quartet Narvil Tetrick, Glenda Miller, Janice Young and Wendell Deo. Also one by Bro. Bob Huskey and Charlotte Reich.

Bro. Hall’s evening message was from John, 6th chapter. Many people followed Jesus and he told them, some want to be with me because I fed you, not because you believe in me. There were unbelievers then like they are today.
