Douglas County Museum

We appreciate the donations to the Historical Society in memory of Stephen Norman.

Other local artists from Douglas County who have shared their books with us are:  Bevy Bice, Inspirational Poems; Hershel A. Pahl, Stroke Survivors Living a Joyful Life After a Stroke; Jack C. Vineyard, The Battle of Clark’s Mill; Chester A. Murray, The Authorized King James Bible Defended and Walter Darrell Haden, The Headless Cobbler of Smallett Cave.

Recent items received at the museum are fish and horseshoe pitching trophies given by 90-year-old Harold Bock.

A book of remedies would suggest this remedy for arthritis:  Get some poke root and chop it into 1 inch pieces or so.  Enough to half fill a quart jar.  Then completely fill the quart jar with some good quality whiskey.  Take 1 tablespoon of the liquid before each meal (three times a day) until all the liquid is gone.

Stay tuned for more.
