Here’s hoping everyone had a happy Father’s Day though it was a very warm day! Hopefully rain showers will soon move our way as it is very dry!
Little Vine Youth Camp is coming up soon at Hammond Camp, July 9th-13th. A lot of us at Lilly Ridge remember getting our children and grandchildren ready to go there a few years ago and go after them and see their accomplishments and all they learned from some dedicated teachers and their helpers for the week.
Happy Birthday (belated) to my niece, Carol Aromis, in Springfield, June 15.
Best wishes are sent to Bob Hammons who is to have heart surgery Tuesday, July 10 in Springfield. His home is at Oldfield, MO. Our prayers are with him.
The annual Farm Bureau meeting is on August 25 at Hoerman Memorial Park with food served picnic style at noon.Guest speaker will be Lyle Rowland.
Lawrence and Dot Strickland had company recently from Spencer, West Virginia. They were relatives and friends, Paul, Anna and Hannah Drennen.
Our church and Eastern Star lost a good member and friend, Mamie Strong. Sympathy is for her family. She had many friends as well as relatives, and influenced a lot of people in her lifetime.
On June 12th Kevin and Opal (Howard) McKinney were married in the cabin on the lake at Jeri Miller’s home territory. Jeff Dotson officiated at the wedding. The reception was at the cabin with around 35 guests, who were friends and relatives.
Paralee Rea accompanied Roscoe Cowart and Ada Mae Howard to the Thacker Cemetery to locate graves of their families. Later they had brunch at Ada Mae’s house, one day last week.
Daughters, Kris Luebbert and Karen Davis, and I, went to Forsyth Wednesday to visit Marlyn and Charlene Pitcock. We took food for lunch together, and enjoyed the time together. Marlyn had been released from Skaggs Hospital after being a patient there for five days. He had heart surgery and a stint placement in the main artery as he had two heart attacks the week before.
The Judson Shipley family of Dora has our sympathy in their loss. Also the Eunice Langston family and others.
Prayers are for Barney and Doris Douglas with health problems.
