Last week’s news
Delmar and I were camping so we attended church at Forsyth with Betty DeChenne. We enjoyed lunch at the church after service. Later Betty joined us at the Forsyth Historical Society where we learned about their activities. They had Bob Mabe and his band there for entertainment. Bob Mabe was the one who started the Ballknobbers in Branson. We enjoyed the music.
One day we went to the Dick’s 5 & Dime store in Branson….I love to browse in that store…it reminds me of the old time stores.
We got 1 ½ inches of rain here while we were gone camping.
Delmar’s garden is needing rain again.
This week’s news
I was not in church this Sunday because I was in ER with my mom, Nora Hunsaker. We spent the night Saturday in ER then they admitted her for a couple of days. She is doing good and gets to come home on Tuesday.
We are saddened of the death of Terry Sarters’ mother.
Spending Father’s Day weekend with Jerry and Suanne Sutherland were their daughter, Dianna Bernhard, and granddaughters, Cassidy and Caitlyn Bernhard of Springfield.
Visiting recently in the home of Bob and Nora Edwards were her sisters, Betty Cazzell of Mosby and Georgia Gillham of Kansas City, Mo. and a friend Waunita Fouts of Kansas City, Mo. They all attended the Phipps Reunion at the Walnut Grove Church on Saturday, June 2. After attending Walnut Grove Church on Sunday morning, the girls enjoyed spending three days in Branson seeing several shows. On Thursday the girls took off again, this time went to Mosby and Kansas City where Nora stayed with her sister, Betty and the others returned to their homes. On Sunday, Nora, Betty and Georgia attended the Mosby Baptist Church 120th year Homecoming Celebration. The girls grew up attending that church and Betty still attends there. They enjoyed seeing and visiting with some people they hadn’t seen for several years. Lots of memories to talk about. Nora returned home on Monday.
Gathering at the home of Toby and Jacinda Sheppard on Sunday for Father’s Day dinner and also to celebrate Bob’s birthday were Bob and Nora Edwards, Kendra and Shelden Walker, Dallee Sheppard, Miranda Milligan, Shawn, Braxton and Alexis Swearengin. A BBQ with all the trimmings, birthday cake, brownies and birthday and Father’s Day gifts made for a very enjoyable day. Being together as a family made it a great day.
Delmar and I spent the day Friday with his brother, Norman Rosseau, who had surgery that morning. He is home recuperating.
On Monday Donna Bannister, Delmar, Norman and I made a trip to Springfield for doctor appointments and I had a CT scan. Now for some rest and relaxation.
Until next week stay healthy and happy.
