Several men worked at the church on Saturday doing yard work. It looks good and rain will be great, which we are getting as I write this. I appreciate all who helped.
Brad Siler, our Sunday School Superintendent, began our service with our devotion from John 14. Stan Humbyrd led us in prayer followed by congregational singing.
Happy birthday was sung to Ashton Crum, who will be 18 on the 30th.
Happy anniversary was sung to Jerry and Pat Nall, who will be celebrating a 50th soon.
Kevin Hodges prayed the offertory prayer as he and Stan Humbyrd received our Lord’s tithes and offerings with Elane Crum at the piano.
Testimonies were shared, praises were given and prayer requests were made. As always, there are many needs. Let us remember to pray for each other.
Pastor Neal read Ephesians 6, putting on the whole armour of God. Who is the captain? He is! We don’t give the orders, He does and we are to take them. After we put on the whole armour, we are to pray always. He also read Peter’s message in Acts 2, how salvation came to all through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal began with prayer followed by singing and testimonies.
LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang. LeaAnn shared about being at the Goodhope General Baptist Church in the morning service for Options Pregnancy Clinic.
Pastor Neal read and taught from Luke 17, the ten lepers. How they cried out to Jesus, “have mercy on us”. He said, go and show yourselves to the priests and as they went, they were cleansed. One came back and glorified God. Jesus asked, were there not ten, where are the nine? Pastor Neal stated how it is in our churches today. Maybe 10% will come and give God the glory.
