Red Bank Church

Hello from Red Bank.  Well, we needed the rain we finally got, but we are greatly in need of more.  I don’t know about you, but rain has priority on our prayer list.  Jesus said in John 14:14, If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  Jesus loves to answer the prayers of those that believe on his name because it glorifies his Father in Heaven.

Brother Gary began church services at Red Bank by leading in hymns.  Brother Jerry gave the morning welcome and introduced the morning Sunday school lesson.  Brother Les provided the announcements.  The monthly business meeting will be held Wednesday, June 6th at 7:00 p.m.

True Worship was the main subject for the morning sermon.  This is what Jesus taught about Worship in St. John 4: 24.  God is a Spirit:  and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  True Worship of our Lord and Master does not stop when we leave the church service on Sunday, but it should be continued throughout our lives with our humble obedience and our loving, faithful, service to  Him.  One who really loves God and desires to be his loving Child by believing that Jesus, God’s only Begotten Son, paid the price of death for their sins should have no problem Worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth.  He always recognizes our true Worship.

It was good to see that Willene Adams was able to attend services at Red Bank this Sunday.

Gary and I visited with Maxine Lirley last Friday afternoon.  We actually found her in her room.  She is usually out and about, either walking or taking part in the multiple activities offered at the Healthcare Center.   She mentioned that she had received a graduation card from our grandson, Aaron Jerrell.  She was thrilled that the card was designed with several pictures of him doing things he loved.  I talked to him after I received a graduation card too.  He said that his mother used the computer to design the card with a collage of pictures she had taken of him.  We have another grandson, Ryker Lirley, who is also graduating from high school this year.  He has enlisted in the Air Force National Guard.  Aaron is planning to enroll in college soon.  In fact, he took some college classes during his last year in high school.  His sister, Allison, is already in college.  I’m glad they all plan to further their education in the field of their choice.

Take care.  Remember that God desires our true Worship.
