T.O.P.S.

Tuesday, April 24th we had sixteen weigh in with a total weight loss of 17.5 lbs. Vince was high loser.

Spring Fling is to be May 5th in Springfield, officers are encouraged to attend.

T.O.P.S. lesson this week by Evelyn was on exercise and an encouraging article from Women’s Day magazine “Advice to live on the bright side”.  We need to stop and smell the roses, do not endulge in the negative, do not sweat the small stuff.  Even if a guy cuts you off in traffic, and forget the gossip.

Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Weight Watchers says that activity is important, get physically active, walk around the neighborhood then run in place.  Tests reveal you expend 50% by interval activity such as pole walking or walking with weights article by Jessica Wozinsky.  Prevention magazine recommends hiding the remote, standing to change stations, using a wooden spoon to mix not a mixer, walking into another room or standing while talking on the cell phone, organize a closet, use the treadmill while watching TV, pedal at your desk, or give a massage, Dec. 2011 issue.

T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a non-profit, international weight loss support group open to anyone seven years of age or older. The MO #0720 chapter meets every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come visit us and sit in on a meeting if you would like to find out more about T.O.P.S.
