If you didn’t have a wonderful Mother’s Day this past Sunday, you certainly missed a good chance. With as perfect a day, weather wise, as anyone could ask for, and if you had come to church, we had lots of friends, neighbors and loved ones to make it a really great day. We did still have plenty of room for you as well.
After a really inspiring Sunday School lesson, we opened worship service with congregational singing, followed by a special by Lola Mayberry, then went into the preaching service. The message was taken from II Kings 4:8-37; the story of the prophet Elisha and the Shunammite woman. Several commented that they had never heard that particular account before. Maybe it was they didn’t recognize the story the way the pastor told it. (I may have to give that more thought).
If you would like to hear some old stories told a new way, come and be our guest, who knows, you might actually enjoy yourself. We will do everything we can to make you feel welcome and cared for. If you don’t, please speak to the pastor, maybe there is something we can change that will help. Come, be our guest, and give us an opportunity to show you how very deeply we care for you.
May God bless, and yes…I am still keeping a seat reserved for you. We may have to move some pews around though, “Yours is the only one that still looks new! Hint hint.”
