It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning. I thought surely we would get some more rain yesterday, but we didn’t and our gardens are needing it. It isn’t much fun to have to water so soon.
Tuesday and Thursday are exercise classes and that has kind of changed some for me since we quilt at church on Tuesday so I don’t get to spend as much time quilting which I miss, but the class is needed for we senior citizens and I try to go as much as possible. It’s quite a large class now and has a good instructor.
I went to the fourth grade award program last night since Albany was getting some awards. I wanted to be there. It was also for third graders and lots of kids had received awards and today the kindergarten classes are getting awards so I need to go for Addison. There programs are good to motivate parents and kids alike.
We had a good service as always Sunday. Pastor Benny Dewitt titled his message, “Shake It Up.” His message was from Exodus 24:9-11 and 15-16, Exodus 33:20-23 and Hebrews 12:21-29. A very good message on Moses. We had a good Sunday school class on the gifts of power and the key verse was I Corinthians 2:4, “My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”
We had a good service Sunday night. Sis. Loretta preached from I Corinthians 12:12-23. We had lots of special singing and testimonies. Prayer request were made and we had special prayer for Gary Hutchison’s family. Gary and his wife worked at Emerson at one time when I did. I also worked there at the time Louise Hutchison did. My heart goes out to the family today especially Bro. Bernie and Gary’s Dad, Wilbur and Louise.
We had lots of birthdays this month and we had one anniversary yesterday. Bro. Ross and Earnestine Martin celebrated their 49th year together. Bro. Dewitt gave a beautiful prayer for a very sweet couple. I appreciated the prayer Sis. Loretta prayed over my birthday. It sure lifted my spirits. Prayer was said over Bro. Albert Valdez, Sis. Sheryl Cross this week for their birthdays.
Sis. Betty Hesterlee was having a stress test in Springfield today and we’re praying for her. I know they’re not fun to have. We’ve also been praying for Sis. Janell Mische and Sis. Charlotte Brown who have both been ill and not with us for a couple of months. We hope to see them back with us before long.
We hope all you mothers out there have a wonderful mother’s day and if you still have a mother send her a card of appreciation for what she means to you.
We’re also proud of Bro. Michael and Sis. Kendra Young who have completed their first year of college. God bless you both.
