Opening Sunday school, Roy Hampton read the 11th chapter of Hebrews. Faith is the substance in things hoped for with many examples of Moses, Abraham, Isaac and others. The Sunday school lesson was taken from Acts 13, “The First Missionary Journey.” Offering prayer given by, Clara Lafferty. It was so great to have Jesse and Ashley Lafferty back with us today and their 4 beautiful kids, (their Aunt Susie says this). We have missed their singing and preaching. We had our congregational singing really working Ronnie Thomas hard by selecting songs with a lot of bass lead. He is blessed with such a great talent that I believe is right up there with the professionals. Jesse and Ashley sang us specials then we moved into our worship service. Brother Cub took the pulpit and read Hebrews 11, verses 38-40. Press on through faith, knowing that the best of the best awaits those who serve God and follow Jesus Christ and His commandments. What the Jews refused, we Gentiles got grafted in. What the Jews denied, we Christians believe and cherish, knowing that if it were not for Christ and the shedding of His blood, we would be eternally lost without hope. Praise God that His mercy and forgiveness extended on to us. We as believers, should do all we can in prayer and use our lives as a witness to those who are still in sin. It’s still His blood that saves today and this free gift of salvation is there for the asking. If you don’t have Jesus, ask Him for forgiveness of your sins and accept Him into your heart. God bless you all and God bless America, that we will return to the faith of our fathers and our fear and respect to God so our nation will once again be blessed by our Heavenly Father.
