“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him,” John 3:36.
Brother Roy Frye opened Sunday school after we sang. We missed Sister Shirley who spent Mother’s Day with her son and family in Belton, Mo. Brother Roy read Psalm 28 for the devotion. Pastor David prayed for the prayer request and Brother Roy dismissed us to class.
Please pray for Ernest Strong and family, Kathy, Roy Frye and family, Dane Brazeal and family, John Little and family, Betty Satterfield and family, Rick Bailey and family, Wanda Goss and family, Shirley Riley, unsaved, unspoken, Jeannie Miller, Crystal Lee, Sue Thomas, country and leaders, military, Camp Piland, Rheba Pool who lost her uncle, all bereaved and each other.
We honored our mothers and ladies of the church. Each lady received a sack with either cookie mix or brownie mix and a wooden spoon. Each sack was numbered on the bottom. Pastor David drew out a number for a hanging plant. Sister Lois Graham won it, but gave it to me. Bless her heart. The next number was Sister Wanda Goss who received a Pampered Chef mixing bowl. We appreciate all of our ladies so much.
The children painted suncatchers and made cards for their moms.
Wanda Goss’ daughter, Jessica, sang a special for us. We were glad to have her share Mother’s Day with her mom and us.
Sister Ella Faye Mitchell sang a special for us and was blessed to have all three daughters attend church with her at Black Oak. They are all special to us.
Pastor David sang for us a song that Sister Lois loves to hear him sing. He then preached from John 3:36. We all love spending Mother’s day with our mothers but we shouldn’t forget to plan to spend eternity with them. The saddest of all is not to plan to spend eternity with Jesus. A very good message.
We dismissed our evening service so moms could celebrate with their families.
Please join us at Black Oak if you need a church family.
May God bless you always.
