In order to raise money for banquet and summer activities, the Ava FFA chapter held its annual Labor Auction at the Douglas County Stockyards on April 26.
There were seven officers, one advisor, and 23 chapter members that sold. The Labor Auction started at 10 a.m. and lasted about an hour. The first people to sell were the officers and Mrs. Tiffany Kauffman, chapter advisor. The members sold in the following order seniors, juniors, sophomores, with the last to sell being the freshman. Also selling were trailer parts donated by Ava MFA.
Douglas County Livestock hosted this year’s auction. Bidders and buyers who participated included: Randy and Tiffany Kauffman, Rouse Farms, Trish and Colton Hall, Elijah Farms, Mike Huff, Davis Tire, Anita Dodd, Marjorie Voyles, David Rahder, Ava Building Supply, Cooper Lumber Company, Cleta Sweeney, Kent Stamper, Century Bank, J&S Golf Cars, Lakey Farms, Kirby Fossett, Kevin McKormack, Karry Davis, Sharon Hicks, Laura Stillings, Wayne Degase, Chris Verhage, Jody Porter, Town and Country Bank, Sharon Arnold, Dan Brantingham, Brian Wilson, Tim Scrivner, Dave McGill, Roger Whiteaker, Curtis Virtue, Todd, Douglas County Sale Barn, Danny Shannon, and Russell Curtis.
