Back at the beginning of creation, in the book of Genesis it says, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Further on, God said, Let there be light. In the original language of Hebrew, it was not worded that way. In Hebrew, God said, Light-be! Before light was, God called it.
Here is a question: How could God call something that was not there? Because he is the Creator? Because he is God? Yes to both answers, but also God has created and established the laws to live by, both spiritual and physical. When almighty God said, Light-be! He was practicing the law of calling things which be not as though they were.
Romans chapter 4 gives us an example as the apostle Paul recalls an Old Testament scripture where God changed Abram’s name. God began to call Abram Abraham, which means a father of many nations. Was he a father of many nations when God called him that? No, but Abraham believed God and had faith in God. God called Abraham a father of many nations before he was one, and Abraham, through faith received God’s word. He is now a father of many nations. Romans chapter 4 says God calls those things which be not as though they were.
Jesus teaches clearly on having faith in God, and what is required to get something that is “not” if you can get a hold of his teaching. It is in Mark chapter 11:22-26. In verse 22 Jesus begins by saying, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
As children of God, we are to imitate our Father. God created by faith on a universal scale, and while we cannot do that now, the Bible says that the earth waits for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans ch 8). Where do you begin? Begin by making Jesus the Lord of your life by believing in him and saying it out loud- Jesus I believe in you, be the Lord of my life. And begin learning from Jesus and follow him.
Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones.
