What a chilly time Friday night and Saturday morning. I got in a hurry to have my propane heater pilot lights turned off, when it was warm, in early April. So electric heaters are in use now. This cool spell could be our blackberry “squall,” as they are now starting to bloom. Sunday was even cooler!
There was a special called cemetery committee meeting Sunday afternoon in the fellowship hall of Lilly Ridge Church. Our regular annual meeting is the 2ndSunday afternoon of June for interested persons who have loved ones buried here.
The Womens Ministries One Day Convention will be at Ava General Baptist Church on Saturday, May 5th.
Lilly Ridge Church be-monthly potluck dinner will be May 6th (Sunday) following morning services.
Dave Davis enjoyed a visit with a cousin, Dr. Bill Davis, wife, and family from Ashland, Oregon who were celebrating their 50th anniversary at Dawt Mill, near their parents old home place there. Also Peggy Jane, sister of Dr. Billy was there from Marshfield, Missouri. Their parents were school teachers, Cleon and Floy Davis.
A May 11th wedding is planned for Zoe Ann Garcia, and Randy Sally, from St. Louis. They were in school together, in St. Louis area, and Randy played as quarterback on a ball team.
Sharon Garcia and Edith McKinnon had lunch together in Mountain Home last Friday when Edith was there for treatment at Preferred Plus. Sharon and her friend, Jaiden, enjoy their time together at their homes in Tecumseh.
The news of Donna Gargione’s death Sunday night reached us Monday morning. She will be missed. She suffered a heart attack.
Marlyn Pitcock visited me Thursday of last week. Keith Davis joined us at noon for lunch and started some bush hogging for me. Keith has had some trouble with an ulcerated tooth and is seeing the dentist this Thursday.
With a drop in temperature I found that I had my propane heaters turned off too early – so have to use electric heaters.
