PAT, Early Childhood, Kindergarten Screening At Norwood R-1 School

The Norwood R-1 School district will have P.A.T., Early Childhood, and kindergarten screenings for children from birth through age 5 May 7-11.  This will be the only screening dates for next school year.

Screenings are a free service offered to anyone in the district regardless of whether you choose to enroll in any of the programs.  This screening is required for children who will enroll in Early Childhood or kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year.

Screening dates for the Early Childhood program will be Monday-Wednesday, May 7, 8 and 9.  Children must be 3 or 4 years old before Aug. 1, 2012 to enroll in Early Childhood.

Screening dates for kindergarten will be on Thursday, May 10 and Friday, May 11.  They must be 5 before Aug. 1, 2012 to enroll in kindergarten.

To schedule an appointment, call 417-746-4101 ext. 156 between the hours of 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Screenings will take approximately 1 hour.  Forms will be available to enroll your child during your appointment.  This enrollment form must be signed by the parent/guardian of the child.  Your child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records, and proof of residency (utility bill, driver’s license, real estate/renter’s contract) are required for Early Childhood and kindergarten enrollment.

Developmental screenings for children ages 6 months to 3 years will be conducted through the month of April between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.  These screenings, provided by Parents As Teachers, are free; enrollment in the P.A.T. program is not required.

Call Kim Crabtree (417) 746-4101 ext. 129 with any questions or to set up an appointment.

Results of screening need to be shared with the parent or guardian, so it is preferred that parents bring the child(ren) to the screening.
