Wednesday evening we continued our study in the book of Exodus, chapter 18. Brother Ludwig led our study for the evening. During Sunday morning services we gathered and went before the Lord in prayer with many prayer requests for the sick, those lost, our military and our churches to name a few. God is so faithful to answer if we just ask.
The adults Sunday school class is studying in Acts. Our children studied about Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem in Matthew 21:1-11 and the prophecy of such events in Zechariah 9:9. They did a palm branch craft so they could sing praises and lift their branches to the king of kings. We had five children in Sunday school. Our morning message delivered by Pastor Talbert was all about the victorious ride Jesus made into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. Scripture was read from several places – Matthew 21:1-11, Zechariah 9:9, Phil. 2:5-11, Matthew 20:28 and Rev. 1:5-6.
Sunday evening our message was based around being and becoming Christ-like. Scriptures was read from John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” What a small, but powerful scripture that holds so true. The more we let go of flesh and lift up the Lord, our God in all glory praise and admonition, the more we begin to take upon us His attributes. When we look in the mirror do we like what we see? …And not physically what lies beneath, what are we portraying in our lives – Christ or flesh? I want to leave off this week with that scripture in John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” I think we all have room to let the Lord increase in our lives and die to “self” and self will a little more. All things that we do in life, should be to lift up God so that Glory is brought to His name and truth is proven as we present ourselves living testimonies.
