Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center

Hello from our home to your home. We began our week by celebrating Easter with the children of the community with a big Easter egg hunt on Tuesday morning for Ava Head Start.   Ava Jr. High Student Council was here bright and early helping the Easter bunny stuff eggs.   While half of the students stuffed the eggs  the other half was outside hiding the eggs.   At 10:30  the classes of Ms. Hart, Ms. Pickney, and Ms. Sandy were here early to hunt the eggs.   Student council each helped the younger kids find the eggs.   Peter Rabbitt was here hip hopping around visiting with all the students.  Dietary Staff fixed hot dogs, chips and cookies for lunch for the kids.

On Wednesday Ava High School Leadership class was here helping Peter Rabbitt hide eggs.   The Ava Kindergarten Class  was here and after taking pictures with Peter Rabbit the hunt was on. Over 4,000 eggs were hid.   Peter Rabbit said he was exhausted by the end of the day.   The dietary department provided lunch for all the kids, once again  a hot dog lunch was served with the Leadership Class helping serve the kids.   Peter Rabbit appreciates everyone for the help that was given to him during the hunts.   It was two very happy and busy days and exciting for the residents watching the children having so much fun.

Whitney, Brooke and Sara from Three Rivers Hospice are now doing fingernails in the activity room at 3:15 on Tuesday after Ms. Evelyn Harper from Hospice Compassus calls games for us.

Thursday morning Ruth Evans and Sydney got the residents gathered and they did some beautiful cards for their family members.   Jeff Smith, a pastor for Three Rivers Hospice, gathered everyone together in the activity room for a time of singing, worship and fellowship.  We all rejoiced in this Easter Season together.  Bro. Jeff stayed and enjoyed our lunch of rueben sandwiches and the works.

After game time, which Warren Gunter and Pebbles Jones called, everyone had a good time with these two volunteers from Three Rivers Hospice and also they represent the Kiwanis of Ava.

We got Connie and Mindy to make up a foursome of  ten point pitch.

It has turned cooler and rained some. We welcomed the showers. Rain always makes it good  for a nice sleeping night.

Bro. John Haskins taught Sunday school for Larry Moore on Easter Sunday morning.  In the afternoon Faith Rock Church was here to worship with the residents.

Next week Goodhope General

Baptist Church will be on the schedule for the afternoon service.

Our prayers and sympathy goes out to the family of Billie Leonard, she will be missed.  Everyone loved Ms. Billie.

We would like to welcome new residents to our home, they are Kenneth Evans, Ruth Shelley and Norma Jean Friend.

Congratulations to John Watson on getting to go this week.  Hard work in therapy does pay off.

God Bless You From Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
