Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center

Hello from our home to your home, we are saddened by the passing our good friends Billie Leonard and Mrs. Lillian Haskins–two lovely ladies who went home to be with the Lord in a sweet and gentle way.  Bro. Haskins testimony to their years together in faith and service was a joy to all of us as we gathered for Bro. Jeff Smith’s inspirational message last Thursday. Bro. Jeff is from Three Rivers Hospice. After all, many of us live here at the home to be taken care in a loving,  christian way until we are called home to be with the Lord.

We keep busy doing activites we are able to participate in and it adds interest to our lives, and we have loved ones and friends  visiting frequently.  Now the weather has been condusive to being outside and what a joy it is to be outside part of the day with soft breezes and sunshine as a special blessing.

Willene Adams was suprised when a group of her card playing friends from the Senior Center  visited her to play cards.

Our James Fleetwood  got to go home last week.  I know this is a joy to him, his wife was faithful to visit with him and be here at meal time.  We are truly missing this family.

Misty’s family is very devoted to her and visits often as well as helping other residents here at our home.  Misty is missing Reba and Ryder Scobba who have gone traveling for the summer and we all miss them, too.  Mr.and Mrs. Jim Stafford visited several residents Sunday afternoon leaving a supply of magazines behind to be shared with residents.   We enjoyed visiting about the old days.

On Monday morning we look forward to a week of much accomplishment.  The first of the month a new calendar is posted on our bullentin board and our activites director, Connie, makes it appropriate for the season.  This one is for April and is really beautiful with flowers and butterflies and the Easter theme.

Then, also each resident’s room must have a schedule posted.  This entails a lot of work for our lady, but keeps residents well informed of all activites.

Tom’s Bible Study this morning was of the 9th chapter of Genesis and of interest to all who gathered around his table.  It seems they have started over at the beginning of creation-a very good place to start.

Our angel out in the parking lot got blown over-for the 3rd time, but this time it got broken across the middle because it fell over the stones, instead of the tree mulch.  It has taken much repair and strengthening, but with Tom and John and Maxine’s cooperation I think she’s going to be resurrected again,.  Maybe by Easter you will see her again.

Gentry Church was here Sunday afternoon, leaving a wonderful feeling of peace among the residents.  We enjoyed the singing and devotional time with this church.

We would like to welcome Lee Weller, Lottie Sanders and Barbara Lehmann to our home.  As mentioned before our prayers are with the families of Lillian Haskins, Billie Leonard , Trellis Roberts and also with resident Catherine Boyer, who lost her daughter.  She traveled to St. Louis to be at the funeral on Saturday.

Congratulations to Martha Goodrich on moving to Ava Place.  Please stop in at Ava Place and get to know the staff and residents there.

God Bless You From Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, MO.
