At last week’s meeting, we had a representative from Wright County Children’s Services who spoke to us about a “GO BLUE” Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention event she is planning for April 25 at Skyline at 2:30. Some of our members plan to go help out.
In addition, our Annual Club Election was held selecting officers for the new Kiwanis year. The election of the following officers were approved: Glenda Little, President, Rick Baker, Vice President, Donna Dixon Secretary and Jayma Potter, Treasurer. New officers will assume their positions on Oct. 1.
Terrific Kids Presentations were held at Ava Victory Academy and Ava Elementary on Monday April 16 at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
On Tuesday night April 17, at 6 p.m., Jeni Dixon of Hartville, co-founder of “True Joy Ministries” is scheduled be with us to share her passion to help others find the joy that comes only through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
At our meeting this week at noon, at Sonshine Cafe, Liz Kyger and a group of high school students will attend to talk about Friday Feast. Sharon Barlow, who heads up the Skyline Back Pack Program may attend. We will also be discussing plans for Kiwanis One Day which is this Saturday, April 21.
