Archie Daily Is GOP Candidate For Dist. 2 County Commissioner

Archie Daily, of the Vanzant area in eastern Douglas County, formally announces this week that he is a candidate for District 2 County Commissioner.
Daily, 64, has lived in Douglas County 22 years. He retired in 2011 after working 17 years for MoDOT and is currently working part time at the Douglas County Herald in Ava.
Daily is a U.S. Army veteran and currently serves as senior vice commander of VFW Post 3770 in Mtn. Grove.
Archie and his wife, Chris, have been married for 30 years. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
Daily began working for Hallmark in Kansas City in 1965. He left that position in 1984 and bought a convenience store at Dora which they operated until 2008.
With 24 years of experience as an independent business owner, plus his tenure with MoDOT, as well as operating a small farm in Douglas County, Daily believes he has the knowledge and expertise needed to serve as county commissioner.
“I’m very conservative with my own money and I will be conservative with yours,” Daily says.
Daily has been a member of the MoDOT Employee Association since 1994, served as District 8 vice president from 2002-2004, state vice president 2004-2008, and has served as state president of the association since 2008.
He is also a member of the Ava Lions Club, was a founding member and firefighter with the Dora Volunteer Fire Department, and served on the Ozark County Ambulance Board from 1988-1992. He is a charter member of Y.O.U.N.G. Conservatives, Missouri Republican Assembly, and Farm Bureau.
“I would appreciate your vote and support in the August primary election,” Daily said.
