Skyline School Board Discusses Insurance

The Skyline R-2 School Board met in regular session on Thursday, March 22, with six members present. The consent agenda items were discussed and approved.

There was no old business on the agenda to be discussed by the board.

In new business, the board discussed the insurance rates that were presented for the OSS/Frisco Consortium. The rates held a 6 percent increase over last year. The board approved the base PPO plan and the HMO plan as a buy-up option for the staff.

The board discussed the 2012-2013 school calendar and set the next board meeting as the time to finalize the calendar.

It was also voted to have all the locks rekeyed.

In the superintendent’s report, enrollment for February was noted at 96 in kindergarten through grade 8, with 11 students in preschool.

The board viewed pictures of some of the parent involvement activities that have been held this year including Make-it, Take-it; Donuts with Dad; and Cowboy Cooking Activity.

It was reported that the school board election will be held on April 3 and the reorganizational meeting will be Thursday, April 5. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m.
