Tuesdays at 7 p.m. a small group meet for special prayer as Pastor Neal tells us over and over, the Lord’s house shall be called a house of prayer. Oh, that Christians could understand this to be so.
Wednesday at 7 p.m. Brother Lynn Greuter brought a torah scroll and shared with us about the songs of Moses and the Ten Commandments. How precious is the word of God.
Sunday at 9:45 a.m. a small group came together to pray for our Lord’s Day service.
To begin our service, prayer requests were given for the Lula Kellogg family, Jeff Dalton, Laurena Mitchell and Joe Humbyrd. Van Menzies led us in this prayer.
After congregational singing, we moved to our classes for Sunday school for the anointed study of God’s word. It is so important that we apply it to our lives.
Jim Harris prayed the offertory prayer as he and Van Menzies received our Lord’s tithes and offerings. Testimonies were given about our good Lord, our Father and his works among us.
Happy birthday was sung to Jim Harris.
Pastor Neal prayed and read from Luke 13, Jesus teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath. There was a woman who for 18 years was bound. Jesus saw her and said, “Woman, you are loosed”. He laid his hands on her and immediately she was straightened and glorified God. The ruler of the synagogue was very upset because Jesus healed on the Sabbath day. Religious evil is the highest form of evil. Jesus answered, “ye hypocrite”. Let us not be as he in the place of a hypocrite, but let us see through the eyes of compassion as Jesus did.
At 6 p.m. Pastor Neal prayed to begin the service followed by singing and testimonies. Sandra Clopper sang. She was here for her Aunt Lula Kellogg’s funeral. In May, she would have been 100 years old. Pastor Neal read from Luke 13, the parables of the mustard seed and the leaven. Jesus was teaching about the Kingdom of God. He also read from Ezekiel, Daniel and Isaiah about the future kingdom that is coming.
Friday evening, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. the film, “Courageous” will be shown in our fellowship hall. Come and be with us. You are welcome.
