Red Cross Responds to Tornado Damaged Region

The Red Cross in Southern Missouri is mobilized and providing assistance across areas hit by the overnight and early morning storms that occurred on Wednesday, Feb. 29.

The Red Cross is providing shelter to those affected in three areas:

Branson – Shelter operation active at The Branson Recreations Center – 1500 Branson Hills Prkwy;

Buffalo – Shelter operation active at Buffalo High School – 500 West Main Street; and

Lebanon – Shelter operation active at Mills Center – 650 Mills Drive.

Disaster teams have been sent to the damaged areas to assess the extent of the situation and determine the level of response required from the Red Cross. Currently the Red Cross is prepared to provide food and shelter for as long as the need is present.

All disaster assistance provided by the Red Cross is a gift from the community. At this time your donations of monetary support are being accepted and appreciated greatly, in response to this storm and those yet to come. As we head into an early storm season, we are all too painfully aware that we will use those donations today, and as the season progresses.
