We are in the second week of March and a beautiful week so far. I don’t know if winter is over, but it must be since I’ve seen people plowing gardens and trees budding. Spring may be here. Our time changes again this coming week also. We’re ready for a change, we just hope tornadoes that some received last week won’t be in our forecast.
I want to wish Bro. Jerry and Sis. Glenda Miller a Happy 50th Anniversary this week. I saw their family celebrated their big day last Sunday. May God bless you with many more. Also Happy Birthday to Bro. Jerry. Our daughter, Sherry and Wes, are celebrating their anniversary this week. Also I believe it’s their 14th. Sis. Jean Heinlein who is in Mercy Hospital at this time has a birthday this week. I hope to hear how she is doing today. Also Happy Birthday to a sweet lady, Sis. Lola Graham.
Yesterday several from church went to visit Sis. Lena and Bernie Hutchison. Sis. Lena had surgery a few weeks ago at Barnes Hospital and then spent some time at Mercy before coming back to their home. We enjoyed our visit yesterday and fixed lunch and left so she could get some rest. Our pastors were there and several others had prayer before leaving.
We will be quilting today and will be enjoying our day together. I along with many others go to the Wellness Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour of exercise. They have an excellent trainer those two mornings. I can’t say I love going, but I sure need it and hope all our seniors take advantage of the use of their facilities.
I heard from two of my sisters last week and Jerry’s sister, Shirley. They all asked about the tornado in Branson and if our daughter who lives there was affected by it. Teresa said her and husband, John, were gone on vacation and hurried back home. Their home was untouched, but both places where they worked were. Teresa’s was hit pretty bad and they are hopefully going to get things pretty much together this week. Windows were blown out and rain had come through the roof. Anyway, lots of damage.
We had good services Sunday with Bro. Benny Dewitt bringing a good message from II Peter 3:1-9. It was a very good message. Our Sunday night service was extra good. Sis. Loretta usually brings the message, but we had two come for salvation during the early singing and that’s worth everything.
I was sorry to hear about so many deaths of people we know. Jerry and I both remembered Max Wood from our school days. Also a neighbor we use to live by, Joe Garner. Then I heard that Verla Hallmark had passed away and the other day I heard Grace Irby had passed away. All people we had known over the years and also Darrell Lakey.
Sis. Wanda and Glen Ray spent a great day Sunday with family and had traveled to College of the Ozarks to go to church with grandson, Michael Young, who is in the church choir there. Sis. Wanda said they enjoyed the church service, time spent with Kendra, who they had to return to college in Bolivar.
I want to invite anyone who loves good services to come out on Sunday and worship with us. Our time change will be returning back to 6 p.m. this Sunday.
