Virginia Emma Prine, 79

Virginia Emma Prine, 79 years, passed to heaven on Feb. 1, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Mo.

Virginia was born Feb. 9, 1932 in Watts, Okla., to William and Blanche (Greene) White.

Virginia was a resident of the Ava community for three years moving from Rogers, Ark., where she lived over 30 years.

On Feb. 19, 1950 Virginia and Henry Jefferson Prine were united in marriage in Smallett, Mo., and to this union four children were born.

Virginia had worked for Dr. Witherspoon in Springfield, Mo. and also worked for J.C. Penney’s  and later retired from Tyson Foods in Springdale, Ark. Virginia was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers, Ark. Virginia enjoyed traveling with Henry, reading, attending music parties, working puzzles and being with family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters, Clarence, Forrest, Paul, John, Marvin, Mary and Annabelle.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Henry Prine, Ava, Mo.; four children, Carol Leppert and husband, Vern, Martha Shumate and husband, Larry, Danny Prine and wife, Cindy, and Jack Henry Prine; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill White and wife, Joan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Virginia were Saturday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday, from 9 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating were the Rev. Tom Johnson and Pastor Oren Alcorn. Rev. Johnson had married Henry and Virginia 61 years ago. Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery.
