I haven’t written since we had the ladies from Teen Challenge with us. We enjoyed their testimonies. We hope and pray they all continue in this Christian walk that they have begun.
The ladies at Faith Rock prepared them something to eat and they set up a table of things they made to sell which help support their work.
We had very nice Valentine dinner Sunday before last. We enjoyed having several visitors and some of them stayed and enjoyed dinner with us. After dinner we had a wedding shower for Bro. Roland and Charlene Carson. They had received two beautiful quilts. One of them everyone had a hand in making with each family embroidering their families name and favorite scripture reference and Sis. Lena Hutchison organized and put it together. It turned out just beautiful. The other lady who had hand quilted the other quilt was a friend of the family who lives in another town and I didn’t know her name. I did want to say Sis. Lena Hutchison had surgery last Tuesday the 14th at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and is doing better, but still needs our prayers. Hopefully she will get to come home soon.
We were sorry to hear Bro. Bill Bolding had passed away. He had been having problems for a long time. Our hearts are sorrowful for Sis. Bonnie and the family. We also learned about a week ago that Jarrett Dougherty’s wife had passed away. We didn’t know her, but Jarrett is from Ava and the son of Lorene Maloney and he’s a comedian in Branson.
We had a very good service Sunday morning. I’ve always been a Sunday school advocate. I would live to see more people out for Sunday school. Our key verse Sunday morning was Luke 18:1,
Men ought always to pray and not to faint.” It takes real commitment on our part to maintain a relationshop with God through prayer. By prayer and Bible study is how we grow and mature. In Psalms we’re told that if we regard iniquity in our heart is the only reason God won’t hear us.
Jerry and I have both had a very bad cold the last two weeks. We were better Sunday and enjoyed having our duaghter, Teresa, up for church and dinner. Sherry and Wes and the girls also came for dinner. Teresa wanted us to see her new car.
Pastor Benny Dewitt brought us a good message from II Thess. 2:1-10 and Matt. 24:36-39, that is just like in the day of Noah, everything going on as usual and Jesus will come back when people won’t be watching for His coming and it will then be too late if were not ready.
Bro. Darrel Hesterleee said the family had a memorial for his sister last Saturday in Ozark. I’m sad for the family, but she was ready to go and that means a lot to the family and friends.
If anyone doesn’t have a church home, we will try to make them feel at home at Faith Rock.
The Fourth Sunday Singing will be at the church at Wasola at 2 p.m. Sunday.
