Fourth Sunday Singing

We had such a fun time at Gentry at the regular 4th Sunday Singing, January 22.  The welcome was given by Emcee, Sybil Gheer; Bro. Joe Lafferty opened with prayer; and songbooks were distributed/collected by Freeman Porter.  There were 47 present and 31 songs shared.  Next month, the Singing will be at Oak Grove Church, February 26.

Participating instrumentalists: Piano: Sybil Gheer, Joann Pond, Susie Sisco, Joann Welker, Jena Moyer; Guitar: Joe Lafferty, Bob Huskey, Lee Allen, Edgar Stewart; Harmonica: Sybil Gheer; Mandolin: Jeff Biaggi; Banjo: Joann Pond; Bass Guitar: Jerry Moyer.

Special musicSolo’s: Susie Sisco, Sharon Skaggs; Duet’s: Bob Huskey and Granny (Sybil Gheer); Pauline Welker and Edgar Stewart, Narvil Tetrick and Janice Young; Trio: Heritage Singers: Edgar Stewart and Jerry and Jena Moyer; church groups: Breedon (Joe, Clara, Susie, Ronnie Thomas), Faith Rock and Gentry; the musicians provided music lead by: Joann Pond, then Joe Lafferty; the final special was provided by the preachers.

The following churches were recognized:  Ava General Baptist, Breedon, Dogwood Nazarene, Faith Rock, Gentry, Goodhope General Baptist, Life, Mt. Tabor, Murray, Oak Grove.

Preachers: Riley Hall, Joe Lafferty, Ben and Loretta DeWitt, Debra McHaffee, Pauline Welker, Bob Huskey.  The singing was dismissed by Sharon Stewart.
